Connection Hints (Windows 9x/NT)

You need to set the Windows telnet client to do a 'Local Echo'.

Follow these steps:

  • Connect to Avatar
  • Select 'Terminal' on the menu bar then click on 'Preferences'
    • Windows NT telnet window with terminal dropdown and then preferences selected.
  • This should then show the next screen below:

    • Preferences window showing the Local Echo tick box, ticked.
  • Ensure that the 'Local Echo' tick box is ticked.
  • Finally, Press 'OK'
  • You should now be able to see what you are typing!
